Abby and Simon came to Wanaka for its stunning backdrop and world-class food. They originally visited Wanaka a couple of years ago after seeing a friend’s instagram post of their meal at Kika. Simon and Abby both avid foodies vowed to add Wanaka to the must-visit list during their upcoming trip to NZ.

Whilst in Wanaka Simon popped the question and in that moment our small town became intertwined within this couples love story.

Abby and Simon were looking for a wedding that was unique to them. The couple both live in San Francisco and the number one priority was that the wedding represented who they were as a couple. It was a no-brainer to them to choose Wanaka for their wedding and they couldn’t wait to share the gem that they had found with their family and friends.

Criffel Station Woolshed provided a stunning setting, it’s Ceremony site nestled amongst the manuka with its outlook towards the Haewa Valley took this couple’s breath away, they had found the spot!

Tregold Weddings took the reins and worked closely with Abby and Simon to ensure that their day was everything that they had dreamed of. They pulled together the dream team and set to, armed with a spreadsheet and a strong coffee, nothing was impossible.

Abby and her gal-squad were cared for by fabulous local hair and makeup artists. Abby’s vintage inspired gown was brought back to its pre-flight splendor by Pristine Steaming and the day was set. Abby had always dreamed of being married by Elvis, this was made possible with a cape and glasses for Abby’s Mum and some creative thinking from their celebrant (like we said, nothing was impossible).

This wedding was one-of-a-kind from beginning to end, leaving Abby and Simon with a day that was truly theirs. Micimage showed us again why he is one of the best in the biz, capturing this couple’s day perfectly and cementing their memories for all time.
